Bhaskar | Fifth South Asian Geoscience Conference to be held in Jaipur

Experts from all over the world will brainstorm for better production of natural gas and oil from October 14 in Jaipur. The fifth South Asian Geoscience Conference, Jio India 2022, will be organized from Friday at JECC, Sitapura, Pink City. During this, more than a hundred experts from India and other countries including the United States, Norway and the European Union will share their experiences by contemplating and brainstorming with Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri.

Rajesh Kumar Srivastava, CMD, ONGC Limited said that apart from India, more than a hundred geology and geophysics experts from other countries including America, Norway, UK will participate in this conference. The conference will reflect on the energy transition and the role of oil and gas in a rapidly changing world. Hence topics like 'Fossil Fuels, Decarbonization and Changing Energy Dynamics' have been chosen for the conference.

ONGC Executive Director SN Chitnis said that more than 200 technical research papers will be presented in the conference. In which more than 1500 geologists and 600 delegates are participating. Along with this, a strategy will be chalked out by global experts to achieve the goal of zero carbon dioxide emissions along with production of HC to meet India's energy requirement in future.

The Association of Petroleum Geologists (APG) India is the India branch of AAPG. GeoIndia Conference has grown in status as an international conference in the last 15 years. The three day conference will be inaugurated on the morning of 14th October by the Union PNG and Hon'ble Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs Shri Hardeep S Puri. Along with this, academicians along with prominent policy makers, top officials of International Oil Companies (IOCs) and National Oil Companies (NOCs) will brainstorm for three days in Jaipur.
