Cooking gas price volatility should not be viewed in isolation:

Reporters questioned Hatip Singh Puri, who is also the Union Minister of Petroleum, about the increase in the price of cooking gas. He replied, ‘Cooking gas cylinder price should not be seen separately. This action is taken on the basis of price fluctuation in the foreign market. While price volatility prevails in the foreign market, cooking gas prices in India remain stable. Moreover, in the environment where many countries are facing fuel shortage, there is no shortage in any part of India’, he replied.
