At the UP Global Investors Summit today, Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said that India will be among the developed countries by 2040. He said that by 2024, India will be the second largest country in the world with metro services after China.

In Uttar Pradesh, from June 2015 to March 2017, the then chief secretary and secretary-level officials of the state government did not allow the central government to take advantage of the schemes. The central government will build affordable houses for senior citizens and Uttar Pradesh will spearhead the project. Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri gave this information at a session on ‘Reimagining City to become new Growth Center of Uttar Pradesh’ organized at Vyas Hall on the occasion of UP Global Investors Summit.

Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said that India is fast moving towards a five trillion dollar economy.
By 2040 we will be a developed country. Our goal is to reach a $25 trillion economy by 2047.
With Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath calling for more smart cities, the face of cities is changing today.
Hardeep Singh Puri also said that government projects cannot be completed without the private sector.
Warehouses are being constructed on PPP model under the Smart City Mission.

For affordable housing, the state government provides land and the central government provides subsidy, but the private sector prepares it with quality at low cost.
Today we have grown from the ninth to the fifth largest economy. Per capita income has doubled in the last six-seven years.

Urban Development Minister AK Sharma said that the state government has done a great job in cleanliness. More than 4,000 landfills have been eliminated. A Muslim thanked by making a video.
