DMRC wins 'Metro Rail with Best Passenger Services and Satisfaction' award

In a piece of good news for metro commuters, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has bagged the award for 'Metro Rail with the Best Passenger Services and Satisfaction' by the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. On Friday, at the 14th Urban Mobility India (UMI) Conference 2021, Union Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs Hardeep Singh Puri conferred an award to the DMRC under the category 'Metro Rail with the Best Passenger Services and Satisfaction.'  

As per the report, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation MD Dr Mangu Singh received the award at the UMI Conference.  

The Urban Mobility India (UMI) Conference is an annual flagship event organised by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), which provides a platform for State/City officials to learn the best urban transport practices from global urban transport experts. 

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation on its Twitter timeline tweeted on Friday night, "We are delighted to inform you that Delhi Metro is conferred with the 'Award for Excellence in Urban Transport' by the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs under the category 'Metro Rail with the Best Passenger Services and Satisfaction." 

Taking to his Twitter handle, Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot expressed his happiness and gratitude for the prestigious award and wrote, "Very happy and proud to receive this award for Metro Rail with best passenger services and satisfaction on behalf of @OfficialDMRC at MoHUA's 14th Urban Mobility India awards. Public satisfaction and safety has always been the core of @ArvindKejriwal model of governance."

At the 2021 Urban Mobility India Conference Delhi Urban Development Minister Satyendar Jain was felicitated with the honour in the category of the city with the best non-motorised transport system. He posted pictures on his Twitter timeline saying, "Extremely honoured to be felicitated by @MoHUA_India, Government of India for Redevelopment Project of Chandni Chowk at the 14th Urban mobility India conference. This vision has only became reality because of the leadership of Hon’ble CM Shri @ArvindKejriwal ji. 

Meanwhile, at the 14th Urban Mobility India Conference 2021, Surat gets an award for the best public transport system, and Kochi bags an award for the most sustainable transport system by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.
