IG News | Employment Fair: Union Minister Hardeep Puri handed over appointment letters in Ludhiana

Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Puri on Friday handed over appointment letters to new recruits appointed in various Central Government Departments at a job fair in Ludhiana. Puri congratulated the new appointees and asked them to work hard for India, which is the world’s fifth largest economy, during the Amrit Kaal.

This is the third phase of the fair organized by the Customs Commissionerate, Ludhiana at Shri Guru Nanak Dev Bhawan, in which out of 187 appointees, 25 were presented with appointment letters by Minister Puri himself. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also addressed the people on this occasion. The first employment fair was organized on October 22, 2022. This time 71,000 appointment letters were handed over across the country.

Quoting PM Modi, Puri said that India will be a developed country by 2047 and the young generation will have to play a positive role in shaping the new model India for Amrit Kaal. He said that the youth would be the heirs of the new India, for which they would have to work responsibly.

The experience of the newly inducted officers in learning from the Karmayogi Start-Up Module was also shared during the employment programme. The Karmayogi Induction Module is an online orientation course for all new recruits in various government departments.

It is expected that the job fair will act as a catalyst in further employment generation and provide meaningful opportunities to the youth for their empowerment and participation in national development. Commissioner of Customs (Ludhiana) Vrindaba Gohil also addressed the audience besides other officials.He said that the Rozgar Mela is a step towards fulfilling Prime Minister Modi’s commitment to give top priority to employment generation. Puri said the Centre’s schemes benefit people from all walks of life, and this has been especially so during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The newly appointed persons, selected from across the country, will join various posts/posts as Junior Engineer, Junior Accountant, Assistant Professor, Technician, Inspector in Customs, Chowkidar etc. in Government of India Departments in Punjab and Chandigarh.
