India’s Energy Transformation Under PM Modi Ji’s Leadership

An interesting conversation on how India’s energy sector navigated through the global crises in the recent past & the way we are now geared to take on the challenges of the future at #NDTVIndianOfTheYear Awards to celebrate ''India - A Transformative Power". With more than 25% of the overall increase in global energy demand coming from India in the next two decades, India will be the demand centre for oil. Uninterrupted availability of energy is crucial to sustain the enormous demand driving India's economic growth as we look to leapfrog to become the world's 3rd Largest economy. India is moving towards being a gas-based economy by increasing the share of natural gas from the current 6% to 15% and has taken key steps under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi Ji towards strengthening our energy infrastructure to reach the goal of energy self-sufficiency. Out of our 3.4 million sq km of sedimentary basins, we have opened up one million sq km for exploration, we have opened up on the data aspect as well & have approx 7 petabytes of geological data through our National Data Repository, which can be shared for the benefit of companies interested in E&P in India.
