Controversy has started over the National Emblem installed in the new Parliament Building in Delhi. Opposition parties have alleged that the appearance of the national emblem has been changed in the new Parliament building. On this, Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has responded by tweeting to the opposition. He said that while the original emblem at Sarnath is 1.6 meters high, the emblem on top of the new Parliament House is huge and 6.5 meters high.

Opposition accuses lions of replacement
Opposition Parties and activists slammed Ashoka’s lot for ‘seductive and majestic glory’ on the government. Instead of lions, he was accused of changing the appearance of the national emblem by depicting fiery lions. He demanded to change it immediately. Puri’s ministry is tasked with the construction of the new Parliament building under the Central Vista Redevelopment Project. There is a need to appreciate the effect of angle, height and measurement when comparing the two structures, he added.
