This will save the country four billion dollars annually on crude oil imports.

Hardeep Singh Puri has said that we are continuously reviewing the production of ethanol and I believe that the fuel with 20 per cent blend will be in the market in December or January before April, 2023.

India has extended the deadline for blending 20% ​​ethanol in gasoline by five years to 2025. The minister said the country would need 1,000 core liters of capacity to achieve the desired 20% blend of ethanol in petrol.

He said that 450 crore liters are being produced and tenders have been floated for 400 crore litres. “We have enough ethanol for a 20 percent blend. A target of 20 percent ethanol in all petrol sold in the country by 2025 has been set.
Inauguration of ethanol plant

This ethanol plant (ethanol plant) has been built near the refinery of Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) located in Panipat, Haryana at a cost of 900 crore rupees. In this, around 30 million liters of ethanol will be produced annually from rice straw.
