News On Air | Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri Leading Indian Delegation to US: Will Co-Chair Ministerial Dialogue of USISCEP

Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas & Housing and Urban Affairs Hardeep Singh Puri will lead an official and business delegation to the USA from October 6 to 11.

During the visit, the Union Minister will co-chair the ministerial dialogue of the US-India strategic clean energy partnership (USISCEP) on October 7 with the US Secretary of Energy Department  Jennifer Granholm in Washington DC.

The revamped USISCEP was launched in line with the U.S.-India Climate and Clean Energy Agenda 2030 Partnership, which was unveiled by U.S President Joe Biden and Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Leaders’ Summit on Climate in April 2021.

The partnership keeps advancing energy security and innovation, and the deployment of technology solutions through five pillars.

“Under the SCEP, the United States and India agreed to collaborate across five pillars: (1) Power and Energy Efficiency; (2) Renewable Energy; (3) Responsible Oil and Gas; (4) Sustainable Growth; and (5) Emerging Fuels,” read a joint statement by India and U.S.

During the visit, Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri is expected to interact with World Bank Officials on Climate Resilient Urban Infrastructure. The minister will also participate in two executive roundtables with USA India Business Council in Washington D.C. and USA India Strategic Partnership Forum in Houston. Additionally, he will hold talks with CEOs of energy companies based in the US.
