Preparations for the Celebration of the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi reviewed in the 121st Meeting of the Rajghat Samadhi Committee

The 121stmeeting of the Rajghat Samadhi Committee (RSC) reviewed the preparations for the year-long celebrations of the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi which would commence on 2nd October,2018. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Sh Hardeep S Puri MoS(I/C), Housing and Urban Affairs, here today.  Sh. DurgaShanker Mishra, Secretary, MoHUA, &members of RSC and officers of MoHUA were present in the meeting

The Committeedecided to form a sub-group to examine and suggest measures that need to be implemented at Rajghat Samadhi Complex in tune with thesanctity and simplicity of the place. 

The committee also took note of several important works undertaken during the last 12 monthsand approved works to be undertaken in the coming monthsrelating to waterproofing of Samadhi alcoves, provisioning of CCTV at parking area, provisioning of universal accessibility, plantation work, provisioning of walkway around Rajghat complex etc.
