PSU Watch | Hardeep Singh Puri unveils PSU Watch's energy sector yearbook

Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri unveiled PSU Watch's annual issue on the energy sector on Wednesday. PSU Watch's yearbook is the first of a series of annual issues that the website plans to bring out on the energy sector. It is themed around India's energy transition journey at a time when India is trying to juggle the quadrilemma of energy security, availability, accessibility and affordability.

It features an interview with Puri, where he speaks about India's strategy for energy security. And along with the interview, there are several other opinions and columns from experts drawn from various arenas pertaining to the energy sector where they touch upon the subject of energy transition.

Some of the prominent authors featured in the yearbook include Anil Trigunayat, a former Indian Ambassador to Jordan, Libya and Malta and a Distinguished Fellow at the Vivekananda International Foundation, Prof Vikram Vishal, Convener of the DST-sponsored National Centre of Excellence in Carbon Capture and Utilisation at IIT Bombay, OIL's Director (Operations) Pankaj Kumar Goswami, Peeyush Kumar, OSD for Clean Coal Technologies at the Ministry of Coal, Ajay Shankar, former DPIIT Secretary and Distinguished Fellow, TERI, former MNRE Joint Secretary Bhanu Pratap Yadav, amidst others.

India hosted its first crucial event under the G20 presidency, India Energy Week (IEW), in February 2023 this year. The government presented a Budget focussed on 'green growth' for the first time. It was a year that began on a high note for the energy sector. And it was PSU Watch's attempt to narrow the lens on the sector which is frought with activity right now.
