Punjab: Union minister Hardeep Singh Puri raises issue concerning overbridge at Bathinda with Nitin Gadkari

Union housing and urban affairs minister Hardeep Singh Puri on Tuesday raised the concerns of Bathinda residents with Union minister of road transport and highways , to resolve the concerns of the people pertaining to converting the design of the proposed overbridge at Barnala Bypass from sand filled bridge to a pillared elevated bridge so that space underneath the bridge can be made available could be used.

Under the current design, the essential services and commercial establishments gets affected and also cause an extra de-tour for the residents affecting the normal functioning and development of the city.

It is learnt that Nitin Gadkari was very receptive and concerned to the problem faced by the people of Bathinda and he assured that the needful will be done.

During his visit to Bathinda in the second week of July as part of Lok Sabha Pravas Yojana, Puri had received a request from the local administration and the residents of Bathinda regarding the Barnala Bypass flyover on BathindaChandigarh National Highway.

Taking cognizance of the concerns of the people of Bathinda, Puri met Gadkari.

Manoj Kumar, Member (Projects), National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) was also present in the meeting.
