‘Ramleela’ is not merely a play or a theatre performance; it is a spiritual journey that takes us back to the era of ‘Treta Yuga’, an era where righteousness prevailed, where virtue was upheld, & where love & respect for every being were paramount. These performances staged at Shriram Bharatiya Kala Kendra since 1957 rekindle our connect with the scriptures which illuminate our lives with divine wisdom. These have incorporated different styles to include both folk & Indian classical dance over the years. The original copy of the Constitution has an image of Bhagwan Shri Ram, Maa Sita & Lakshman Ji returning from ‘vanvas’ as the theme for Part 3, related with Fundamental Rights. When the Constituent Assembly finished the task of drafting the Constitution, the renowned artist Nandlal Bose was tasked with illustrating it. The choice of Bose to lead the historic project says a lot about the philosophical orientation of the newly independent nation.
