Nov 03,2022

Petroleum Minister Hardeep Puri said on Wednesday that though India had received crude oil waivers from Russia in May and June this year, there is now a normal buyer-seller relationship between the two countries. Responding to a question on the supply of crude oil from Russia, the minister said that he had said a lot about it in interviews (referring to his interview with CNN on Tuesday in Abu Dhabi, where he said that the India had no moral conflict in buying crude), but said that there is no price discount from Russia. There were exemptions in May and June, but then other (countries) also started giving exemptions.

So now (with Russia) it's a buyer-seller relationship. On the fuel prices being stable in the country for the last five months, the Minister said that although the oil and gas prices are rising globally, But the prices in India have not increased that much. We will navigate the situation with calm confidence, he said.
