The Indian Express | BJP invites Arvind Kejriwal to debate on development works ahead of MCD polls

Nov 30,2022

After Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal challenged BJP national president J P Nadda to show at least one work his party has done in its last 15 years of rule in Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), Delhi BJP chief Adesh Gupta hit back Tuesday and invited the AAP national convener to Burari to debate on the development projects by both the BJP and the AAP.

With just days to go before the civic polls in Delhi, the BJP pushed its redevelopment plan on Wednesday, saying that it will benefit at least 1.35 crore residents of the 2 crore population of Delhi. Speaking about the plan in a press conference, Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said that the plan includes three schemes — the ‘Jahan Jhuggi Wahan Makaan’, PM-UDAY, and land pooling.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED), meanwhile, Wednesday made another arrest in the Delhi excise policy case. Businessman Amit Arora, director of Buddy Retail Pvt Limited located in Gurugram, was arrested on charges of money laundering. This is the sixth arrest by the ED in the case.
