Feb 01,2023

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman delivered the Modi government's final full-fledged Union Budget before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections on February 1, 2023. The administration sweetened the new income tax regime by exempting up to 3 lakh dollars from income tax. People earning up to Rs. 7 lahks are no longer required to pay income tax. The FM also streamlined the tax system and named it the "default income tax regime". "Budget 2023 is a budget focused on development and progress. All segments of society will profit, but not through a reckless, free-for-all approach," says Hardeep Singh Puri, Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas. The maximum permitted investment in the senior citizen savings scheme, a popular investment among the elderly, has been increased in Budget 2023.
