"Winds of changes have started to blow in Punjab as the BJP is strengthening its roots in the state and in coming days, the party will do extremely great work here," Union minister Hardeep Singh Puri said here on Friday.

Speaking on the sidelines of the Centre's Rozgar Mela 2023, Puri said: "Despite our party not in power in Punjab, so many prominent politicians from other parties are joining us only because the BJP's good governance model has been proved at the Centre and in the states where ever it is in power."

"As far as reasons for losing the recent assembly elections in Punjab is concerned, the 2022 elections were very different as all the political parties which ruled the state were rejected by the people. Moreover, we had always been a junior partner of a coalition government in Punjab and we were disadvantaged by the governance style of our senior partner. Besides, we had no presence in rural areas," said the minister.
