Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated India Energy Week in Bengaluru on Monday. Let us tell you, India Energy Week is being celebrated from 6 to 8 February. Here the Prime Minister will participate in many programs, including the much-awaited scheme E-20.

Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), the country's largest petroleum company, will recycle 10 crore waste mineral water, cold drinks and other PET bottles every year to make them environment-friendly uniforms for its employees posted at petrol pumps and LPG agencies to make the economy carbon-free.

In line with the Prime Minister's vision of phased elimination of single-use plastic, IndianOil has designed uniforms for retail customer attendants and LPG delivery personnel. They are made of recycled polyester (RPET) and cotton. Each set of IndianOil customer-attendant uniforms has been prepared by recycling around 28 used PET bottles.

The company has also introduced home cooking stoves to provide homes with more affordable and environmentally friendly cooking options.

This stove can be run on solar energy as well as auxiliary energy sources. Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled the IOC uniform unbotled during the opening ceremony of The India Energy Week here. At the same time, he also introduced the indoor cooking system of cooking commercially.

Modi said the introduction of indoor solar cooking will open a new dimension for the green and clean cooking system. He expressed hope that this cooking stove will reach three crore families in the near future.

He said that under the unbotled, 10 crore PET bottles will be recycled, which will help in protecting the environment.

Speaking at the event, Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said, "We are focusing on energy efficiency. Our emphasis is on increasing the use of future fuels and renewable energy, including hydrogen.
