Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri launches 'NIPUN'

New Delhi: Union Minister for Housing & Urban Affairs and Petroleum & Natural Gas today launched the National Initiative for Promotion of Upskilling of Nirman workers (NIPUN) in New Delhi in the presence of Secretaries of Housing & Urban Affairs, Labour & Employment, and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship.

At the launch he said, India is in the midst of one of the largest planned urbanisation drives ever undertaken- building up to 700-800 million sqm of spaces every year. This scale is being achieved with the use of state-of-the-art construction technologies, both in the public & private sectors. 

"Happy to launch NIPUN, the National Initiative for Promoting Upskilling of Nirman Workers, an initiative of Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs & NSDC National Skill Development Corporation to impart skill training to over 1 lakh construction workers," added.

This program will create a dynamic skilling environment for construction professionals & help them enhance their livelihood opportunities.
