Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri visits District Ferozepur, reviews development works

FEROZEPUR: Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs and Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri visited in this border district to review the work done under the Aspirational District Program.

Meanwhile, Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri first visited Aanganwari Center at village Satiewala in Ferozepur, he inquired about the Aanganwari Centers in the district from the department of Aanganwari Centers and also saw how many Aanganwari Centers have been modernized and how many are pending. He also sought information about the diet given to pregnant women under the nutrition campaign. At Aanganwari Santra, they also met small children and adopted some pregnant women.

After this a meeting was held by the Union Minister with the officers of various departments of the district at the office of the Deputy Commissioner.
He apprised them about the utilization of the funds provided for the development works in the district under the Aspirational District Program and asked them to expedite the pending work.
He said that all the funds provided should be utilized in the development works in a timely manner.
He said that with the development works the ranking of the district is formed and if the development work is delayed then the ranking of the district comes down.
On the occasion Deputy Commissioner Amrit Singh apprised him about the performance so far in education, health, agriculture and other sectors in the district. He said that the performance of the district has already increased till now and in future the work would be further enhanced by speeding up the work. Apart from this he also informed about some of the ongoing projects in the district such as renovation of civil hospital, modernization of Aanganwari centers, PHC center and other medical equipment.
The Deputy Commissioner demanded more funds and machinery for the development of the district. On which the Union Minister assured to provide more funds under the aspirational program for the progress of the district. He said that the aim of the government was to make every district of every state better in terms of development, education and health.
DC also discussed the benefits being provided to the beneficiaries of various other welfare schemes of the Central Government.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Amardeep Singh Gujral, SDM Om Prakash, Civil Surgeon Dr. Rajinder Arora, Program Officer Ratandeep Sandhu, Former Cabinet Minister Punjab Rana Gurmeet Singh Sodhi, Gur Parvez Singh Sheila Sandhu and other officials of various departments were present.
