Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri visits Ferozepur, reviews development works

Central Govt aims to make every district better in terms of development, education and health: Puri

Ferozepur April 28, 2022:  : Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs and Petroleum and Natural Gas, Hardeep Singh Puri, visited Ferozepur district, to review the work done in Ferozepur under the Aspirational District Program. 

After holding a meeting with the officers of various heads of the departments, Hardeep Singh Puri reviewed about the funds provided for the development works under the Aspirational District Program (ADP).  He also asked all concerned to expedite the pending works.  He said that with the development works the ranking of the district is formed and if the development work is delayed then the ranking of the district comes down. He said that the aim of the government is to develop every district of every state for improving education and health. He also discussed the benefits being provided to the beneficiaries of various other welfare schemes of the Central Government.

Deputy Commissioner apprised the Union Minister about the performance so far in education , health , agriculture and other sectors in the district. She said that the performance of the district has already increased till now and in the future, the work would be further enhanced by speeding up the work. Apart from this she also apprised about some of the ongoing projects in the district such as renovation of civil hospital, modernization of Aanganwari centers , PHC center and other medical equipment. 

DC however, demanded more funds and machinery for the development of the district on which the Union Minister assured to provide more funds under ADP for the progress of the district.

ADC(D) Amardeep Singh Gujral , SDM Om Prakash , Civil Surgeon Dr. Rajinder Arora , Program Officer Ratandeep Sandhu, Former Punjab Cabinet Minister Rana Gurmeet Singh Sodhi, Gur Parvez Singh Sheila Sandhu and other officials of various departments were present.
