Waali News | Swachh Sarvekshan 2022: 11 cities of Madhya Pradesh, including Indore, will receive awards

11 cities of the state, including Indore, will receive awards in various categories at the Swachh Sarvekshan award ceremony to be held in New Delhi on Saturday. Indore is expected to clinch the number one title for the sixth time. The first city will be awarded by President Draupadi Murmu. Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri will present the award to Bhopal, Ujjain and other cities of Madhya Pradesh. Ujjain, Chindwara and six cities in the state with a population of less than one lakh will receive the award this year. Mhoo will also get an award this time in the Cantonment Board category.

Previously, the MP received the third Swachh State Award in the country in Swachh Sarvekshan. The benefit of the improvement in star rating and ODF ranking this year is also reflected in the state ranking. It is almost certain that the MP will get the Clean State Award this time.

Last year these cities got the award
In Swachh Sarvekshan 2021, four MP cities were ranked in the more than 10 lakh population category. Indore was ranked 1st, Bhopal 7th, Gwalior 15th and Jabalpur 20th. Among cities with a population of 1 lakh to 10 lakh, Ujjain is the fifth and Devas the 10th cleanest city. Last year, Indore won the Safai Mitra Suraksha Challenge Award, while Dewas stood first among cities with a population of 1 lakh to 10 lakh.

These cities in the state will get the award

Madhya Pradesh’s Indore, Bhopal, Ujjain, Chindwara, Mhoo Cantonment Board, Bhadoi, Mungavali, Obedullaganj, Petlawad, Phufkalan, Khurai will get this award.
