11 cities of the state will receive awards in various categories at the Swachh Sarvekshan award ceremony to be held in Delhi on Saturday. Indore is expected to clinch the number one title for the sixth time. The first city will be awarded by President Draupadi Murmu. Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri will present the award to Bhopal, Ujjain and other cities of the state. Ujjain, Chindwara, six cities in the state with a population of less than one lakh and cities with a population of one lakh to three lakh will receive the award this year. In Swachh Sarvekshan 2021, four MP cities were ranked in the more than 10 lakh population category. Indore was ranked 1st, Bhopal 7th, Gwalior 15th and Jabalpur 20th.
Commissioner Kishore Kanyal said that Swachh Sarvekshan 2022 results can be released by October 1. The Ministry of Urban Housing announces the names of cities leading in cleanliness.
