With Bidri vases to Greek President HE PresidencyGR & earlier a handcrafted Bidri Surahi to South African President HE Cyril Ramaphosa, PM Narendra Modi Ji’s gifts to dignitaries breathe renewed energy into Bidri, the 500 year old traditional handicraft from Bidar in Karnataka. Bidar also has particular importance for Sikh Sangat. It was graced by Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. It is home to Gurdwara Sri Nanak Jhira Sahib. One of the Panj Pyare who offered himself to Khalsa Panth at a young age of 16, Bhai Sahib Singh Ji, was also a native of Bidar. I have been blessed to visit this divine land, meet the people & visit various Sikh Gurudwara Sahibs.It was in Bidar where Mai Bhago spent the rest of her saintly life before rejoining with God. A Gurdwara sahib marks this holy site.
