ZEE News | Jio India-2022 conference will be inaugurated for the first time in Jaipur, Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri

The three-day fifth South Asian Geoscience Conference 'Jio India 2022' in Jaipur, Rajasthan will start from October 14 i.e. today. The latest researches for better production of natural gas and oil will be discussed during this time. Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas and Urban Affairs Hardeep Singh Puri will inaugurate it today.

Organized by the Association of Petroleum Geologists (APG), over a hundred experts from India and other countries including the United States, Norway and the European Union will participate to discuss issues and share their experiences.

Giving information about the event, Rajesh Kumar Srivastava, Patron of APG and CMD, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC), said that GeoIndia Conference has grown in status as an international conference in the last 15 years.

The three-day conference will be inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Union PNG and Hon'ble Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs Hardeep S Puri. Secretary MoPNG Pankaj Jain, Director General, DGH SCL Das, and CMD, Oil India Limited Dr. Ranjit Rath will be present.

Apart from India, more than a hundred geology and geophysics experts from other countries including America, Norway, UK will participate in this conference. The conference will brainstorm on the role of oil and gas in the context of the energy transition in a rapidly changing world. Hence, 'Fossil Fuels, Decarbonization and Changing Energy Dynamics' has been chosen as a theme for the conference. More than 200 technical papers will be presented in the conference, in which more than 1500 geo-scientists and 600 delegates are participating.
